Industry-Specific Considerations

Healthcare

We are not HIPAA-compliant and Steno is not intended for use as a medical device or regulated health service. Customers deploying in healthcare or other regulated contexts are responsible for their own regulatory compliance, including applicable laws governing AI-assisted services. Consult qualified legal advisors before deploying AI for purposes that may be subject to sector-specific regulation.

Financial Services

Ensure AI disclaimers clarify content is not licensed financial advice (if applicable). Review compliance with SEC, FINRA, or equivalent regulations.

AI-generated content should not be considered legal advice without attorney review. Consider attorney-client privilege implications and bar association guidelines.

Education

Consider student privacy laws (FERPA, COPPA), ensure content accuracy and age-appropriateness, and provide academic integrity guidelines.

Compliance Support

We provide:

  • Secure, compliant infrastructure
  • Data Processing Agreements
  • Guardrail configuration options
  • Conversation logging for audit purposes

Our processes are designed to support compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and other data protection regulations. You are responsible for ensuring your use complies with industry-specific regulations.
